Celebrating Women Winemakers
For this year's International Women's Day, we invite you to celebrate with a grand tasting of wines from women winemakers and collaborators. We'll be showcasing both old and new world wines that satisfy a wide range of palates, and pairing with some of our signature craft dips.
A notable highlight is the Bugey-Cerdon sparkling rose crafted by the wife and husband duo of Catherine and Patrick Bottex. Made of 90% Gamay grapes using the rare Methode Ancestrale technique, this champagne-like sparkling wine is delicately feminine, delightfully refreshing and slightly sweet. An ideal wine to welcome spring with, beautiful aperitif or dessert delight.
Another strong standout is the Hedges Red Mountain Syrah by Anne Marie Liegeois. Washington made, but of French design, this bold Syrah is an integrative homage to Anne Marie's US and French sides of the family. A complex dark red ideal for decadent French cuisine involving game fowl, made for romantic dinners and crafted for lovers of food and wine.
A delicious new addition to our permanent lineup and a well timed surprise for the March 8th holiday: the Cot Malbec from Valerie Forgues, a self-taught winemaker with only 20 years of experience, yet a surprisingly successful grasp of what makes a wine quaffable and food friendly with an overall elegant balance of flavor.
There will be several additional surprises to our lineup, so don't miss out on this unique opportunity to sample amazing wines and learn about their amazing women winemakers. Join us Friday from 3pm to 6pm, you don't have to be a woman to celebrate women with us!
